The last time Motorola sent invites for a soak test was to Droid Bionic users, and they received the official OTA bump-up to Android 4.0 within a fortnight of the tests. This morning, Motorola has started sending out soak test invites for a different, much newer device – the Droid Razr M. If we were to go by Motorola’s Jelly Bean rollout schedule, which indicated that their new Razr lineup would get Jelly-beaned by the end of the year, it sure does seem that Motorola is holding up its end of the promise. But let’s hold our horses and not jump to conclusions just as yet. After all, its always better to hope for the best, but not expect it – that way you are never disappointed.
Anyway, this is what the soak test invite says:
Hi,
Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Droid RAZR M on Verizon to participate in an early preview of a new software release, and provide feedback. If you are not currently using a Droid RAZR M, please excuse and ignore this email.
Before you register, please successfully login to our Motorola Owners’ Forums at forums.motorola.com. Be sure you can see the message “signed in as {your user name}” at the upper left hand side of the page. You will be asked to verify this step during the registration process.

Moto has traditionally not been the most prompt with updates, and I say this from experience as a GED Xoom WiFi owner. Perhaps the Google takeover earlier this year has something to do with the newfound promptness. Not that we are complaining. Besides, that’s another good reason to expect a Moto manufactured Nexus sometime in the near future.
