Download & Install Moto G 2nd Gen (2014) CM14 ROM based on Android 7.0 Nougat

The 2nd Gen. Moto G from year 2014 has gone past its 18 months of guaranteed update period, and hence won’t be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update officially from Motorola.

But thanks to the folks over at xda, we already have an unofficial build of CM14 for the 2nd Gen. Moto G (2014), based on the AOSP sources of Android 7.0 Nougat. We know it’s early to bet on an alpha release, but this CM14 ROM for Moto G 2014 seems ready for daily usage.

Developer LuK1337 has posted only one issue with the ROM — video recording. But if you can live without video recording functionality on your device in favor of running Nougat, the ROM build is otherwise ready to be your daily driver.

Grab the Moto G 2014 CM14 ROM based on Android 7.0 Nougat from the download link below and simply install/flash it via TWRP recovery like you’d flash any other custom ROM on the device. Also, since this is an AOSP based ROM, you will have to flash/install a Nougat supported Gapps package separately via TWRP to get Google services like Play Store on your device. Get both the files below:
