How to Disable LG G4 Sound on Full Charge

We know it’s bad for battery to put it on charge for all night while sleeping, but it isn’t so bad to really care about it. Having your device fully charged and ready to go through a day when it’s time to wake up is what most (almost all) users want with their smartphones.

But, somebody over at LG thought it’d be nice to alert a user while he’s sleeping with an insanely loud sound when his/hers LG G4 is fully charged, even when it’s in priority mode.

We think that’s stupid! And a fellow user at xda FPtje also thinks the same, so he found a way to disable / change the sound G4 makes when its battery is full. Plus, he also made a funny remark at the trouble:

The sleep deprivation torture device called the LG G4 shall torture our souls no more. I don’t know what went through the minds of the one(s) incompetent enough to think that it would be wise that this phone should make a loud noise when finished charging (even when in priority mode), but here’s how to get rid of it.

If your LG G4 has root, you can remove the sound on full charge by simply going to /system/media/audio/ui/ directory on your device using a file manager app with root access (we recommend the free ES File Explorer app), and delete/rename/replace the FullBattery.ogg file from there.

But if you’re not rooted, you can use tasker to turn off the full charge sound. FPtje has detailed the tasker way on his post on xda, check it out.

Happy Androiding!
