Did Moto X 2017 or Moto C just clear Wi-Fi Alliance as XT1750 or XT1754?

Moto X 2017 has been in the making for quite some time now. We have been hearing about this Motorola device since last year, and it is yet to see the light of the day. That should, however, happen soon as two Motorola devices have been spotted on WiFi Alliance. Out of the two devices, any one could be the upcoming Motorola X 2017.

Carrying model number XT1750 and XT1754, the two Motorola devices have cleared the WiFi certification hinting that their release is close at hand. Either of them can be the 2017 iteration of Moto X.

The WiFi listing shows both the devices running Android 7.0 Nougat OS and sporting similar frequency band of 2.4Ghz. But the hardware version of both the devices are different.

The device with model number XT1750 is shown carrying Mediatek 6580 SoC which is a quad-core processor targeted at the budget segment. On the other hand, XT1754 device is powered by Mediatek 6737M which also is a quad core processor with an average clock speed of 1.3 GHz. Based on this specification, we can guess that the Motorola smartphones listed on WiFi Alliance will come in the mid-range or upper mid-range segment.

Moto X, which could also be officially named as Moto C, has been the target of a number of rumors in the past which showed how it would look like via leaked images and renders. But not much has emerged on the specsheet front.

All we know is that, Motorola plans to release Moto X 2017 or Moto C this year targeting the upper-mid range section with decent features. A 5.2-inch display, front fingerprint scanner embedded in home button, single rear and front camera will embrace the upcoming Moto X phone. This is all we know about it as of now. Hopefully, in the coming days we should get to know more about it as its release date nears.

  1. As the existing Moto X has a 5.7″ screen and no home button, the specs don’t add up to this being a new version.
