More details leaked on Xiaomi’s upcoming $63 phone

Last year in December, we heard that the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will come up with an affordable Redmi smartphone which is geared towards first time smartphone users. Now, a recent rumor brings us more details about this upcoming device.

The original Redmi was the most affordable phone at its time of release, since then Xiamoi has a tough competition in the market as its rivals too have come up with their own budget-friendly smartphones that are equivalent to the Redmi. But that didn’t stop Xiaomi from bringing an even cheaper phone to the market. The company is expected to introduce a new smartphone with a price tag as low as 399 Yuan ($63) to the market.

The Redmi 2 sells at a price tag of 699 Yuan in China. So a 399 Yuan phone from Xiaomi would make an excellent device. According to sources, the new Redmi device is expected to sport a 4.7 inch screen, 1GB RAM, Quad-core Cortex A7 processor coupled with dual-core Mali T628 GPU. Also, the small budget smartphone is rumored to have quite the same design as Redmi and includes LTE as a connectivity option.

Well, if Xiaomi is really going to release this device for the rumored price and features, it would undoubtedly be one of the biggest hits in the low-end budget smartphone market!
