Dell Announces Venue 7 and Venue 8 Android 4.4 KitKat tablets

The Computex 2014, the annual technology spectacle held in Taipei every year has kicked off today with some of the most exciting technologies displaying all around. Dell has introduced its two Android KitKat tablets, Dell Venue 7 and Dell Venue 8. These two devices joins the Dell Venue series with the latest OS running on them. This is quite a start for the Computex event.

The Dell Venue 7 running the latest Android 4.4.2  KitKat comes with a 7-inch IPS display featuring a 1280×800 pixel resolution which has been retained down the Venue family. Venue 7 is powered by a dual-core Intel Atom (Z3460) processor clocked at 1.6 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM. Venue 7 sports a 5 MP rear camera assisted by a 1 MP front-facing camera, which won’t be any good for taking selfies or video calling unless Dell manufacturers had really included something extra (Software rendering) to back it up.

The device offers 16 GB of internal memory, which can be further extended up to 64 GB using a microSD card. One noteworthy feature of the tablet is that it includes a humongous 4550 mAh battery which can suffice the device’s needs for a little longer. The Venue 7 tablet has the dimensions 193 x 118 x 8.95 mm and weighs 290 grams which is not much to boast about. The device comes in Red and Black variants, so you can choose the one you like the most.

The Dell Venue 8 on the other hand sports a 8-inch IPS display featuring a Full HD 1920×1200 pixel resolution which could be a good display for a 8-inch device and runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. Venue 8 is powered by a dual-core Intel Atom (Z3480) processor clocked at 2.1 GHz which is powerful than the processor included in the Venue 7. But the device comes with 1GB of RAM, which is same as that of Venue 7, it should have been atleast 2 GB to make the device more powerful.

Venue 8 sports a 5 MP rear camera but comes with an 2 MP front-facing camera which is a slight improvement to Venue 7. The device offers the same storage value, 16 GB of internal memory which can be further extended up to 64 GB using a microSD card. The Venue 8 is also backed up by the same humongous 4550 mAh battery, which will offer less battery backup than Venue 7 considering its more powerful processor.

The Venue 8 tablet has the dimensions 216 x 130 x 8.95 mm and weighs 338 grams which is a bit heavy for an 8-inch Tablet. The device also comes in Red and Black variants.
