Chrome browser for Android has received a new update that bumps the version to 58.0.3029.83 or in simple words 58, from its previous 57.0.2987.132 (57).
The latest update makes it easy to view and manage the ongoing download and brings in search feature for downloads pages, which makes sure you can easily search for all the items that you have downloaded through Chrome browser. Further, the update lets you clear the browsing data more easily on the History page, although clearing it via settings also remains in place.

The latest update also brings support for “Open in new Chrome tab” for Chrome Custom Tab. And what’s an update if there are no bug fixes? So, expect some bug fixes and performance improvements in the app.

A few weeks ago, chrome got an update which included ability to download web pages for offline use and also revamped the download screen. Now, I updated the app and the download page looks the same. I guess the search is new as the article states but I hadn’t noticed if it was there or not before. I think that’s a nifty feature considering the long list of downloads we have and having to scroll through the list is tedious. Chrome for android has always needed a better, more robust downloads managing capability. With frequent updates focusing on this, its being developed and made a lot better than before when it used to be very basic.
