Lately, there were reports that BlackBerry will soon be launching a full fledged Android powered smartphone. Following this, the Twitter bound leakster @evleaks claimed that a device called BlackBerry Venice will be heading to AT&T later this year.

The source has highlighted that the BlackBerry Venice will be powered by Android. He further mentioned that the device will make use of a slide-out physical keyboard for the QWERTY fans.

It has been many years since we saw an Android based QWERTY slider smartphone. If this slider device is a BlackBerry flagship, it might offer niche hardware aspects. However, other than the name of the device nothing else is known.

It would be great if this Android based QWERTY keyboard slider smartphone comes with complete access to the Google Play Services. We will have to wait to know more about the upcoming BlackBerry smartphone.
