BlackBerry 10 Lockscreen ported to Android

BlackBerry 10 style lockscreen mod for jellybean

BlackBerry 10 OS might never make it to the public, depending on how RIM’s fortunes hold up, but thanks to the developer community, you can get the BlackBerry 10 lockscreen on your Galaxy Nexus, thanks to a mod made by XDA Senior Member evilisto.

There’s only one word that can explain the lockscreen: beautiful. To unlock the screen, one needs to drag from the bottom of the screen to the top, which shows a black “curtain” of sorts, that molds itself according to the direction you drag your finger in, before making its way to the homescreen. It looks really classy, and while you lose out on a lockscreen shortcut for the camera, it’s a very neat way to unlock the phone.

However, there’s a major caveat involved. The procedure for applying the mod is quite complex, involving downloading the entire Android source and then patching the necessary files, so it might not be for the average Joe to follow.

Head to the source link below to get more details on the mod and the procedure for installing it. Do let us know how it works for you, in case you try it out!
