The LG G Watch R, the first smartwatch that was announced by the firm with a round form factor in the last year is available for a price of $99 at AT&T’s online store. It is a great deal as the usual price of the Android Wear smartwatch is $200. LG announced the LG G Watch R in October 2014 for a price tag of $299.
Lately, the South Korean tech firm announced the launch of the LG G Watch Urbane that also has a round form factor. Eventually, the firm has slashed the price of its older model, the G Watch R by means of special promotions. Though there are several retailers and carriers selling the yesteryear smartwatch model at discounted prices, the $99 pricing by AT&T is a better one.
The LG G Watch R boasts of a 1.3 inch P-OLED display with 320 x 320 pixel resolution and it is energized by a Snapdragon 400 processor teamed up with 512 MB of RAM. There is 4 GB of internal storage space and a 410 mAh battery powering the G Watch R.
The LG smartwatch is one of the best looking smartwatches in the market and it has the IP67 certification making it dust and water resistant. The device is slated to receive the Android Wear 5.1.1 update. As this update will not bring the Wi-Fi capabilities to the smartwatch, LG has assured to issue a special update in the next quarter that will bring support to receive notifications when connected to verified Wi-Fi networks.
