AT&T Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus update rolling out with July security patch

After the successful roll out of June security patch last month for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, AT&T has started rolling out July security patch for both the devices in the US.

The update, which arrives as an OTA update weighs 137MB for Samsung Galaxy S8 and 133MB for S8+. The handsets should be on the build number G950USQS1AQF7 and G955USQS1AQF7 for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ respectively to receive this update.

For Samsung S8, the update arrives as G950USQS1AQG1, whereas for S8+, the update arrives with build number G955USQS1AQG1. Like any other security patch update, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.

However, the update still doesn’t bring an option to hide navigation bar for the AT&T variant, a feature which Samsung rolled out to certain Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus models a month ago.

While the update will reach your device automatically in the coming days, you can check for it manually via the device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.
