AT&T Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S5 also receiving March security update

AT&T is also seeding new security software updates for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S5. Earlier today, the carrier released similar updates for the Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 Active.

The update installs the latest March Android security patch on the devices. It is a recommended install and is being delivered over the air. The build number for the Galaxy S6 is G920AUCS6DQC1, whereas the Galaxy S5 update build number is G900AUCS4DQC1.

Both of these devices are running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The update weighs around 20MB in size for the Galaxy S5, and around 15MB for the Galaxy S6. Make sure you’re connected to a WiFi network and that your device has more than 50 percent charge, before you download and install the update.

The Galaxy S6 will soon get the Android Nougat update, as carriers have already certified it. AT&T had also seeded the March security updates for the Galaxy S6 Edge, Note 4 and the Note Edge just yesterday.

  1. I can confidently say that the S6 is one of those phones that has aged so very well over the years. Still snappy and has experienced no major performance issues.
