AT&T Galaxy S6 Active receives update with July security patch

AT&T Galaxy S6 Active has started receiving a new software update. The update installs July security patch and is being seeded Over the Air.

Arriving as build number G890AUCS6DQG1, the update not only brings monthly security patch but also includes system enhancements. It also removes glitches in the system interface and irons out other prevalent issues from the previous build G890AUCU6DQF1.

Weighing at only 23MB, the update is a minor one yet highly recommended as it essentially protects your device from viruses, malware and other vulnerabilities. If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you need not worry as it will be rolled out in stages. Therefore, it may take a while to appear on your device. You can also check manually by going to Settings > About device > System update.

Before installing the update, ensure that your Galaxy S6 Active has at least 50 percent charge and use WiFi to download the update to avoid extra data charges. Also, it is advisable to transfer or backup your files before downloading the update,  in case the installation fails unexpectedly.
