[Download] AT&T and T-Mobile Galaxy S2 CM13 Marshmallow ROM

The Samsung Galaxy S2 may have aged four years but the device can still kick and run even the freshest release of Android (Marshmallow) pretty good.

Of course, Samsung would never release the Marshmallow update officially for the device, but thanks to the third-party development support from the community, an unofficial build of CM13 for Galaxy S2 I9100 has already been out for well over a month.

And thanks to bryan2894 over at xda, CM13 is now also available for the AT&T and T-Mobile variants of Galaxy S2Skyrocket (I727) and Hercules (T989), respectively.

The CM13 builds for both the devices are pretty stable and looks good to us for your daily usage needs. The only functionality issue with the ROM is that NFC doesn’t work, but I guess that’s okay for the most of us. Good thing everything else works flawlessly.

Note: Installing CM13 on AT&T S2 and T-Mobile S2, is, however, not a straightaway process. You must virtually repartition your Galaxy S2 to ext4 via TWRP recovery to be able to install CM13.

However, if you’re already on a virtually partitioned ROM, you can install CM13 like you’d install any other custom ROM from TWRP recovery.

Grab the AT&T and T-Mobile Galaxy S2 CM13 ROM and Marshmallow Gapps from the download link below and follow the quick installation instructions below to install CM13.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download and transfer CM13 ROM and Marshmallow Gapps to your Galaxy S2 external SD card.
└ Internal SD card is also fine, but since we will be erasing it while doing a repartition, the files will be safe in external SD.
  2. Boot into TWRP recovery.
  3. [Important!] Virtually re-partition to ext4: Select Wipe » Advanced Wipe » Tick/check Internal Storage » select “Repair or Change File System” » select “Change File System” » select “EXT4”, and then swipe to start formatting the internal SD card.
(This will erase everything on internal SD card, make sure you backup before doing this):
  4. Flash the CM13 ROM zip.
  5. Flash Marshmallow Gapps zip.
  6. Reboot device.

That’s all. Enjoy CM13 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your AT&T Galaxy S2 (Skyrocket) and T-Mobile Galaxy S2 (Hercules).
