Asus ZenFone 2 Laser

Asus is pushing a new software update to the ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE601KL) over-the-air (OTA).

The update arrives with V21.40.1220.2153 and brings with it a bunch of changes to the smartphone.

Firstly, there are a couple of bug fixes. The first fix lets you increase/decrease volume when using the Line app in handsfree mode. Then there’s a fix for the volume burst issue while playing music.

Also, with the update, the Bluetooth performance has been improved and the GMS APK has received an update.

And finally, there’s the Android security patch which adds an additional layer of security to the handset.

As mentioned above, Asus has already started seeding the update over-the-air and it could take a week or two for the system to completely autopush the update to all the devices.

So, in case you haven’t received the update notification, head to Settings > About > System Update to manually check for the update.
