ASUS is holding two events on October 16th, one each in Milan and Taipei, for the unveiling of the Padfone 2. Invitations to the events have been sent to the press in both cities, though without any other information regarding the device.
A successor to the original Padfone that released in April this year, nothing about the specs of the Padfone 2 is known yet. People are expecting an upgrade to a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor from the dual-core one in the first Padfone, and other upgrades such as a bump in the amount of RAM, a higher resolution display, as well Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box would be welcome upgrades, though considering how costly the original Padfone was, these upgrades may jack up the price of the Padfone 2 quite a bit higher.
