As Redmi 2S Release Date draws near, new Pics leak

Lookie here, our favorite rumor mill has churned out new images of Redmi 2S, and the really coming soon device is not alone, it’s predecessor Redmi 1S is just along. This gives you a fair idea of the size of Redmi 2S, and it’s not bad, as Redmi 2S looks a bit smaller but a bit wider compared to Redmi 1S, which should make it more easy to handle the device.

We’ve already seen pics of Redmi 2S thanks to TENAA listing that was out few weeks ago, and this leak matches with that listing — that’s to say the leaked Redmi 2S above is real, in case you’re wondering. The layout of capacitive buttons remains same — you can see, the old home and back buttons have been redesigned to Lollipop effect, while Menu button remains unchanged, That means, there is no place of Recents button here — even now — even though it’s been so long since Ice Cream Sandwich that Google gave Recents button a place in the bottom bar.

This is strange — and very disappointing — for a company as modern as Xiaomi, as even the traditional (and slow-thinking?) giant like Samsung, has finally removed the Menu button in favor and Recents button (since Galaxy S5), and that is just what you want too as a user too.

Here’s a quick rundown to Redmi 2S specs.

Xiaomi Redmi 2S Specs

  • 4.7 inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels)
  • 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and Adreno 306 GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB internal storage
  • 8MP and 2MP cameras
  • Android 4.4.4 is expected. No word of Lollipop update, yet.
  • 4G LTE

Xiaomi Redmi 2S Release Date

Well, it’s as soon as January 4. Just a few days later. So, yes, we’ll definitely have an official announcement soon, and will definitely get a word on Lollipop update too when the company makes Redmi 2S official.

Redmi 2S isn’t going to be only Xiaomi handset to release this month, as company looks set to release its Redmi Note 2 and the wildly awaited Mi5 set, successor to Mi4.
