Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S had been developed as a Tablet-y counterpart to the Galaxy S series of smartphones. Launched last summer in 10.5 and 8.4 inches variants, the devices were a hybrid of the good with the bad, combining great specs, a large Super AMOLED display along with a plastic body and a hefty price tag. Still, the overall reception of the Tab S pair was quite favorable.
Now, rumors and leaks about the Galaxy Tab S2 have started flowing in even though Samsung has yet to mention the fact that it is working on the next version of the Tab S. While we did know that the devices this year around will be launched as 8 and 9.7 inch variants — courtesy screens with a 4:3 aspect ratio — that was almost all we knew. However, we now know quite a bit more thanks to the benchmark test of the Tab S2 on GFXBench which happened to get leaked.
Assuming the above information to be correct, which it just might be since save a couple of slight discrepancies — screen size 9.6″ instead of the 9.7″ known to us — most of the spec sheet seems to match what we knew or had guessed about the device.
The device seems to run on an Exynos 5 octa core processor and has a 3 GB RAM along with 32 GB of internal storage. Camera wise, we have a 7 MP rear camera (8 MP? May be another glitch) and a 2 MP front shooter. The device is expected to run Android 5.0.2 along with usual additions from Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface.
While we don’t know when the South Korean company may choose to announce/launch the device, the MWC  may just be a good place for more about the device — confirmed details and news — if not the actual device itself.
