Web Version of Android Market updated, showing Larger number of App Installs

Notice the bright green box above? It’s showing the installs count of Google Maps and it’s not just “>250,000”. Well, we don’t when did Google updated its android market and no word on its extent and other features too, but the web version is now showing greater number of installs (i.e. downloads) of the applications under the “ABOUT THIS APP” column in the right most side of the app’s page.

Earlier — and still on our Android phone (SGS) at the least — Android market would just show >250,000 installs as the maximum count. But we just saw some apps showing much larger Installs counts running into millions. The maximum we could find was 10,000,000 – 50,000,000 — for Angry Birds, Google maps, GMail, etc. We’ve also spotted following slabs:

The change in categories begins from the slab of 100,000-500,000 Installs which replaces both 100,000-250,000 and >250,000 slabs.

So, in case you doubted Rovio’s statement earlier about 30 million downloads of Angry Birds, you’ve just been proof’ed by Google!

The new slabs look cool to us, what about you?
