It looks like Samsung has already started testing a stable Android 7.1.1 build for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. As you can see in the above screenshot we received, the Android N testing for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is in progress.
Samsung had recently confirmed that they will be releasing the Android 7.1.1 update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge instead of Android 7.0. The first official Nougat update from Samsung, for the S7 and S7 Edge, will be based on the latest Android 7.1.1 release, that’s what it basically means.
Now 7.1.1 isn’t mentioned in the leak, but we can easily guess that it’s so, as Samsung already stated that their Android N release will be based on Android 7.1.1. And Vodafone Australia updating their page today for Android N testing would only mean they have stable 7.1.1 build in hand, and not the beta version which has been out for so long now, for which the company has already stopped accepting registrations.
Therefore, it all lines up, and looks like Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users will soon receive the Android 7.1.1 update. The targeted December release shouldn’t be a miss then, as now we have confirmation that it’s indeed under testing at carriers.
Users could also get the Secure Folder feature from the Note 7 in the Nougat update.
