Galaxy S7 to get Android 7.1.1 update under stable release

Samsung support team has revealed that they are looking to release stable Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge with Android version 7.1.1.

In a query sent by Galaxy S7 users, the support team said that their official N released will support Android 7.1.1. Earlier, Sony revealed that they are targeting to release the 7.1.1 update before others.

The Android 7.1 update packs in lots of cool changes, and on our Nexus 6P which is running 7.1.1, we’re totally loving it. Much more than 7.0, sure.

The Android 7.1.1 update brings you app shortcuts, restart option along with power off in the power menu, Moves (gestures), Image keyboard, smart storage (shows you pop-up to free up storage space when full or nearing full) and new Emojis.

BTW, Android 7.1.1 is already available for many devices unofficially via CM14, a custom ROM that is pretty get at updating even the long-dead-for-OEM devices.
