Android 4.2 pack for Galaxy Nexus brings all new goodies with it

With the recent leak of the entire system image of Android 4.2 from the LG Nexus 4, we’ve seen a steady stream of apps from Android 4.2 made available for download, including the Gesture Typing-enabled keyboard, new camera with Photo Sphere panorama mode, and more.

However, if installing everything separately seems like too much work for you, XDA Senior Member tommrazek01 has collected all those Android 4.2 goodies and put them in a single pack for the Galaxy Nexus, which can be flashed from a custom recovery.

Here’s what the Android 4.2 pack includes:

  • Camera with PhotoSphere
  • Gallery
  • Stopwatch/Clock
  • Nexus 4 Sounds
  • App Install (Phonesky.apk)
  • Launcher With Wallpapers

Let’s see how the Android 4.2 pack can be installed on the Galaxy Nexus.

How to Install Android 4.2 Apps Pack on Galaxy Nexus

  1. Download the apps package.
    Download Link | Filename: 4.2_TransformPack_v2.zip
  2. Copy the 4.2_TransformPack_v2.zip file to your phone.
  3. Install TWRP recovery on your Nexus by following the guide → here. Make sure to flash the GSM version of recovery. You need recovery to be able to install the Android 4.2 pack and can also use ClockworkMod recovery instead of TWRP. Skip this step if you already have TWRP or ClockworkMod recovery installed.
  4. Turn off the phone and boot into TWRP/CWM recovery. To do this, press and hold the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons together till the screen turns on. Then, scroll to the Recovery mode option using the volume buttons, then select it using the Power button to restart in recovery.
  5. Select Install, then browse and select the 4.2_TransformPack_v2.zip file. Confirm installation to flash it.
  6. After installation is complete, select the Reboot system button to reboot the phone.

Once the phone boots up, you’ll be able to use all those Android 4.2 apps on your Galaxy Nexus. Enjoy!
