Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update for Sony Xperia P coming soon it seems

The Sony Xperia P may soon be getting its treat of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, as a new firmware for the device has been found passing certification at the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) website, dated March 13th.

The new firmware carries the version number 6.2.A.0.269, while the current Ice Cream Sandwich firmware sits at version 6.1.1.B.1.89, and the jump from 6.1 to 6.2 suggests a major upgrade rather than a small one. Sony had scheduled the Jelly Bean update at the end of March for the Xperia P (and a few other devices), so it seems a surefire pointer towards its impending release.

With Jelly Bean, users will be treated to a host of new features, such as Google Now, actionable and expandable notifications, offline voice typing, and a faster, smoother and more responsive interface thanks to Project Butter enhancements. There will also be some new Sony apps, including Sony Care, which basically provides helpful tips and pointers for using the device.

So, patience my good friends. The sweet taste of Jelly Bean is almost within reach.
