Android 4.0 Port for the Galaxy Tab is in development

With Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich Alpha roms springing up all over the place for newer devices, including Samsung’s very own Galaxy S, the Galaxy S II & the Nexus S, it was just a matter of time before some of the enterprising folks over at XDA were to develop or at least begin development on an ICS port for another brilliant device in the Samsung Galaxy stable, the original Galaxy Tab.

So all you Galaxy Tab owners, you can look forward to get a feel of ICS on your devices soon. All we can say at this point, is that development work is on in full swing, in fact, there is an Alpha build available for you to download and try out, thanks to Angel_666 and koudaxi of XDA, if you cannot wait to get a look & feel of ICS on your beloved tabs. However, pls be informed that this is in no way a ROM meant for daily usage, as a lot of stuff is still “Work-In-Progress” and you would need to revert to back your regular GB roms after testing this. In case you decide to try this out, do make sure that you are on Gingerbread bootloaders and have an ext4 file format.

You can find out more and download the Alpha build of ICS for the Galaxy Tab here.
