Acer Iconia Tab A220 Specs leak

It seems that Acer is prepping a successor to their affordable quad-core Iconia Tab A110 tablet, named the Iconia Tab A220, which has been found in the GLBenchmark database, giving us a look at some of the specs of this unannounced tablet.

The listing reveals the processor to be a quad-core Tegra 3 running at a maximum clock frequency of 1.3GHz (like the A110), while the Android version is listed to be Android 4.1.2, which would seem normal for an upgrade to the Android 4.1-powered A110. The screen resolution is listed as 1280 x 752, though whether it’s a 10.1-inch tablet or a 7-inch one, remains to be seen.

Acer already has the A110 positioned as the affordable yet powerful Android tablet in their lineup, competing with the Nexus 7 with specs like a microSD slot and HDMI port missing from the latter, so I wonder whether Acer will be making the A220 as affordable as the A110. Maybe they will, to better compete with the newer 3G-enabled and higher storage models of the Nexus 7, as well as Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD and Barnes & Noble’s Nook HD tablets.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for further details on the Iconia Tab A110, and will keep you updated with further info, including official announcements and pricing.
