Acer announced the Acer Chromebase all-in-one also called DC221HQ in April this year. At that time, the firm did not reveal many details about the device. Now, the firm has come up with all the details including the price and availability of the Chromebase all-i-one.

It is a Chrome OS computer with a 21.5 inch 1080p display and NVIDIA Tegra K1 quad core processor supplemented by 4 GB of RAM. The all-in-one packs in 16 GB of native storage space and dual 3W audio speakers. The connectivity aspects onboard the Acer Chromebase all-in-one include HDMI out, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.

Though the Intel Core i5 chipset is missing, the NVIDIA offering should be capable of handling Chrome OS as the platform is lightweight and swift.

The interesting aspect is that this Chromebase all-in-one can have an optional touch screen display as well. However, it remains doubtful if this device was a necessity as the users can dock a Chromebook to a monitor to enjoy a large screen experience.

Talking of price and availability, the Acer Chromebase will be priced at $329.99 and $429.99 for the non-touch and touch screen versions respectively. The non-touch version of the device will be launched this month, whereas the touch screen version will be made available only in July.
