9 years of Asphalt racing, 50 million downloads!

Listen up, Asphalt Racing fans. Your favorite mobile racing game just turned 9, and on its birthday has reached the landmark of  50 million downloads across seven different games over the years – quite a feat for a mobile game franchise.

Here’s some Asphalt trivia which will get you thinking the next time you chug the ignition –

  • Almost 3 years worth of time has been spent by users in-game.
  • Asphalt drivers have driven around the planet more than 950,000 times
  • If speeding tickets were to be issued to Asphalt drivers, it would amount to more than $3 billion. And we’re glad they’re not mentioning the amount for damaged property.

Asphalt, from Gameloft. started off as Asphalt: Urban GT in 2004, and kept adding am improved version of the game in a different setting each year, except 2007, till the current version of Asphalt which is Asphalt 7 Heat. Through all these iterations, Asphalt has managed to consistently improve the quality of graphics, while maintaining the addictive rush of gameplay. Here’s to Asphalt, and hoping they continue their run.
