4G Price in UK revealed by EE (Everything Everywhere)

UK’s first super fast 4G service is all set to launch next week, on October 30th, on Everything Everywhere, or EE as it is popularly known. The carrier had earlier announced devices which will be compatible with EE 4G, and has now revealed their pricing plans for the service.

As indicated earlier, you would still have to pay for the device, over and above the your monthly plan rate, but all plans would include unlimited calls and texts. For those who want both, a free phone as well as 4G service, it looks like the Huawei Ascend P1 is your only choice, for the time being, with a 1 GB or higher data plan, starting from £41 a month.

As you can see in the pricing table above, EE’s 4G plans start from £36 and handset pricing reduces if you go for a higher data allowance/monthly plan. The highest monthly plan gives you 8GB of 4G data usage, and you can choose from the HTC One XL, or the Samsung Galaxy S3, or the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for £29.99. If you are a data hog, and likely to consume up to 8GB of data, then this is a pretty sweet price for either of these handsets.

The 4G network allows super-fast access to mobile data services like streaming video, music and gaming. Regular voice and texts are pushed through 2G and 3G channels, making data services more efficient, and hence faster. Speed tests conducted on EE 4G were quite impressive, with upload speeds averaging at around 20 Mbps, and downloads peaking at around 38 Mbps.

Customers selecting the £41 a month plan or higher, will also get to choose from one of three media services that EE will offer as a bonus –Streaming Music Service from Deezer OR Two games per month from Gameloft OR Live Mobile TV which will kick off in November and have up to 20 channels with live streaming of popular channels like Eurosport, Channel 4, the BBC and even Cartoon Network. You can change whichever service you choose, once every month – which is a nice flexibility to have in our  opinion.

The new 4G service will also feature a Film Store, offering a free movie, or download per week till February 2013.

You can read the official press release on the EE website, to know more about the 4G service.
